What started as an experiment, quickly became an interesting project. While integrating some security enhancements into my php code, I came across an idea to do exactly what the title of this post says. So after playing with some code here and there, I quickly found that this could be useful for others as well.
Written entirely in bash, and in its current revision, designed for Red Hat based systems (REHL, Fedora, CentOS) is a script that does just that. It allows you to run the script within a cron job, which regularly updates your iptables drop list.

Lots and lots of code updates lately... Keep an eye out, because within the next two, to three weeks, I will be posting some new articles.
SELinux tips and tricks, and Securing services with tcp_wrappers. I plan, on getting out the SELinux article first, to help show people its not the evil demon seed that so many people like to think it is.
Yes.. SELinux can be a handful for newcomers, or those who dont quite know Linux Systems in detail, however it provides some great security enhancements, which can prevent Bots and (most) local root exploits, from allowing a malicious user to destroy your system
